New shipping route launched linking Liverpool with Asia

Swiss-based logistics group, MSC, has launched a new shipping route connecting Liverpool with China and Vietnam.

Its Britannia service is a stand alone loop which will connect Asia to Northern Europe, including the key ports of Hamburg, Rotterdam and Antwerp.

The new loop provides access to the port of Vung Tau, in Vietnam, creating a direct service to Liverpool and MSC’s existing hubs in Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg, connecting Scandinavia and Baltic destinations.

This will increase MSC’s coverage from China and Vietnam to the UK and North West Continent.

The first sailing will be the vessel MSC DENISSE X on July 1.

The full rotation is as follows: Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Vung Tau – Liverpool – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Hamburg – London gateway – Singapore – Shanghai.

MSC says this sought-after customer service connecting Asia to Liverpool direct will complement its other direct services to London and Felixstowe to provide an unrivalled premium service network throughout the UK.

The logistics group has a global network of more than 675 offices.
