Bentley launches 202mph supercar

NORTH West luxury car marker Bentely has revealed another new model – it’s fastest, greenest convertible ever.
The Continental Supersports Convertible will have a top speed of 202mph and be able to reach 60mp in just 3.9 seconds. It is sure to get pulses racing among Bentley’s loyal army of footballer clients, who include England stars David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Joleon Lescott.
Dealers will be taking orders from next week, with first deliveries available in June. Prices start at £178,300.
The new model in the Crewe-based company’s first launch of 2010, and will follow the opulent Mulsanne off the production line. The Mulsanne was lauched last August and has been well received in all of Bentley’s key markets.
As well as being high performance, Bentley has invested in green technology. From next year all models in the Continental, including the new Supersports Convertible, will be capable of running on both petrol and E85 bioethanol or any combination of the two.
The FlexFuel technology offers a reduction of up to 70% in CO2 emissions on a ‘well-to-wheel’ basis, a measure of a fuel’s net contribution to the atmosphere, not just exhaust emissions.
Bentley chairman and chief executive Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen said: “The new Supersports Convertible blends thrilling performance and dramatic styling with luxury and practicality in the Bentley open-top tradition.
“Extreme power combines with pioneering FlexFuel technology, now shared with all Continental models, reflecting Bentley’s ongoing commitment to more environmental motoring.”
