FreshStart to develop £5m scheme in Nottingham

FRESHSTART Living has bought a 30,000 sq ft office building in central Nottingham which it plans to convert into 157 student bedrooms.
The currently-vacant block on Milford Street, which forms part of the Victoria Shopping Centre, has been bought from Capital Shopping Centres. It has been renamed as Victoria House Halls.
The company said it will build a mix of standard and ensuite student rooms ranging in size from 8.2 sq m to 12 sq m. Students will share kitchens and communal areas on each of the floors.
Work on the project is due to start in January 2012 with completion expected in September 2012 in time for the start of the 2012-2013 academic year.
It is selling the plots to investors at prices starting from £27,500.
Stuart Cook, acquisitions manager at FreshStart Living, said: “FreshStart is rapidly expanding its portfolio of student accommodation with schemes in Salford, Bradford, Manchester and Greenock, Scotland, and we have further acquisitions to announce.”
