Volcano chaos puts brakes on Jaguar film

THE making of a short film in Cheshire to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic e-type Jaguar and 75 years of Jaguar, has been delayed by the Icelandic volcano crisis.

Hollywood director Derrick Borte – who works closely with Manchester marketing company Journey9 – and is directing the short film, ‘Jaguar’s Racing Heart,’ is stuck in the US, so filming at Tatton Park has had to be put back a week.

German-born, US, based Borte is something of a hot property in the film world, having written and directed the soon-to-be released black comedy “The Joneses”, which stars A-lister Demi Moore and former X-files lead David Duchovny.

Laura Wolfe, managing director of Journey9, which is delivering a month-long campaign for Jaguar, explains: “We’ve had to put the filming at Tatton Park by a week. No one could have fore-seen this ridiculous situation.”

The volcanic ash situation, which has closed UK airports for the last six days, has also stranded Journey9 founder David Wolfe in the US.

Mr Wolfe, a serial entrepreneur who is based in the US, has been hoping to visit the new UK arm, led by his sister, for the first time since its launch in January.

Laura Wolfe said: “It’s a big shame that David is missing this week, as we’re really kicking off with our Manchester Celebrates Jaguar campaign.”
