Appointments: GVA, MHA Lighting; and more

GVA has recruited three new members to its planning, development and regeneration team in the North West.
Shaun Taylor, formerly with GL Hearn, has joined GVA as an associate while James Sheppard has been appointed principal planner, and George Smith has joined as a graduate planner following a previous role working with Planning Aid.
Iain Jenkinson, senior director of planning, development and regeneration at GVA, said: “I am really pleased to welcome Shaun, James and George to the team.
“These new strategic appointments will strengthen and grow our town planning capabilities in response to the specific market sectors in which we believe growth will occur over the short-to-medium term.”

LED lighting specialist MHA Lighting has appointed a production planner to help manage the expansion of its production operations.
John Cole, 33, joins Atherton-based MHA Lighting from Oldham-based Innovative Technology, where he was production controller for more than ten years.
The company has appointed several new staff members in recent weeks following order wins from Greater Manchester Police, the NHS and a global pharmaceutical giant.
Mr Cole said: “It is a very exciting time to be joining MHA Lighting.
“As the company further expands, I will manage the production processes to ensure productivity is maximised and the operation is as streamlined as possible.
MHA Lighting managing director Tom Harrison said: “MHA Lighting is clearly in possession of a product which beats the competition hands down in terms of efficient results, light quality, energy saving and maintenance costs.

INDUSTRIAL Tomography Systems (ITS) has appointed Shijie Liang as an applications engineer.
Liang, 27, joins ITS immediately after completing her PHD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester and will work tailoring applications to industrial clients’ needs.
Ken Primrose, managing director of Manchester-based ITS, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Shijie to the ITS team.
“Shijie was the perfect candidate with a wealth of knowledge about tomography and an eagerness to learn more. Her enthusiasm and skill ensure that she will prove a valuable asset to our company.”

ACCOUNTANCY firm Kim Marlor Associates has recruited Louise Johnson to join the business and said that it is also planning to recruit a junior management accountant in order to cope with increased demand.
The six year-old firm, which is run by Kim Marlor and David Swarbrick, has also just relocated to bigger premises on Cecil Road in Hale town centre.
The company provides a consultancy service to clients by forecasting potential problems and improving processes.
Marlor said: “We are so delighted to have Louise on board, keeping the office running so that David and I can maintain the continued dedication to our growing client base.
“We’re also starting the search to recruit a junior management accountant and are extremely excited at the prospect of taking Kim Marlor Associates to the next level.”
