TEG lines up another Scottish contract

ORGANIC composting business TEG Group has signed a contract to handle garden waste for a Scottish local authority worth up to £300,000.

The Chorley-based business said its TEG Environmental subsidiary will handle the three-year agreement with Perth & Kinross Council.

In January TEG signed a four-year deal to handle mixed food and garden waste at the council which could be worth £1m.

It said the latest job should pull in revenue of £50,000-£100,000 a year, depending on the volume of waste involved.

Chief executive Mick Fishwick said: “This contract is in addition to the mixed waste contract announced on January 12 and means TEG is able to provide a comprehensive service to the council covering the full range of organic waste arising in the county.”

Last week said announced its £5.9m acquisition of Midlands-based waste processor Simpro. The deal will increase the number of TEG plants from four to 10 and treble processing capacity to nearly 300,000 tonnes a year.
