Birkenhead aerospace parts manufacturer in administration

ADMINISTRATORS at KPMG Restructuring are seeking a buyer for North West Precision Forms Ltd, a manufacturer and supplier of metal parts to the aviation sector.

The Birkenhead company, which has been trading more than 38 years, mainly makes bolt, drills and electric panel boarding. It employs 87 staff and has a £7m turnover.

Paul Flint and Brian Green of KPMG were appointed joint administrators of the family-run business yesterday and plan to continue to trade the business, while a buyer is found. No redundancies have been made.

The administration was prompted by the loss of a major contract worth approximately £1.7m, the delayed start of a new contract and a major recall of an order for rectification.

Mr Flint said: “The combination of these factors resulted in pressure from creditors.

“It is our intention to trade the business whilst a buyer is sought, and so would urge any interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”
