Oliver Valves seals Australia contracts

OLIVER Valves has tied up more international orders, this time for two natural gas projects off the coast of Australia.

The privately-owned Knutsford-based company says the combined value of the two contracts is £1.7m.

The largest order, worth £1m is to supply 100 double block and bleed valves, secured via an American contractor. The other is worth  £700,000 and is for 4,200 low-temperature valves to an Australian-run Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) project.

The deals, both secured by Oliver Valves’ sales teams in Kuala Lumpur, are the two most significant projects the company has secured in the region.

David Cornwell, managing director of Oliver Valves said: “These are significant contracts for Oliver Valves, not only because they are our biggest single orders to date in the Australia region, but also because they were secured entirely by the Malaysia team.

“Previously, sales support and customer services were provided by the Kuala Lumpur team and the technical work was done in the UK.

“This is a key part of our strategy to get closer to our customers in overseas territories and remove any delays caused by time zone differences.”

The projects closely follows a series of record wins – a £12.6m order for a project off the coast of Qatar signed last September and a £7.2m deal in Brazil signed in August 2011.
