Car Transplants on the move after £3m deal

A COMPANY specialising in recycling used cars is gearing up for growth after securing £3m in funding to buy new premises.
Car Transplants, and owner-managed company based in Winsford, Cheshire, has received backing from Barclays Corporate in Manchester.
Founded in 1974, Car Transplants last year dismantled 10,000 vehicles, generated 12,000 tonnes of scrap for recycling, recovered 10,000 gallons of oils and brake, recycled 10,000 batteries and sent 50,000 tyres for processing.
The company now employs 87 and has invested heavily in new equipment to enable it to work to the highest environmental standards.
Director Mark Schofield said the move to new larger premises would be phased over the next two years, allowing the firm to continue to grow and deliver high standards of customer service.
“Car Transplants is a thriving business with a reputation for quality, experience and excellent customer service.
“From the outset the company policy has been to improve the image of the industry and service levels to both our customers and suppliers alike.”
Shaun Cross, relationship director at Barclays Corporate said: “We are delighted to provide funding support to our long standing customer to assist them in delivering their growth aspirations, and which demonstrates our commitment to the funding and support of businesses in the recycling sector.”
