Kimberly-Clark takes 360,000 sq ft at Chorley

KIMBERLY-Clark, the manufacturer of brands such as Kleenex, Huggies and Andrex, has bought the lease on a 360,000 sq ft distribution warehouse in Chorley.

The unit, at Revolution Park near the M61, was originally purpose built for building materials group Wolseley UK.

It has sold the freehold to F&C Commercial Property Trust which has leased it to Kimberly-Clarke Limited for 11 years. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Colliers International acted for Kimberly-Clark and also arranged the funding deal with F&C Property Trust. Wolseley UK was represented by Cushman & Wakefield.

Mike Walker, head of Colliers International in Manchester, said: “This is yet another deal that demonstrates both the improvement in the North West big shed market and also the strength of the funding market for this kind of unit let to undoubted covenants like Kimberly-Clark.”

Jason Print, partner at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “We were pleased to have completed this deal efficiently minimising the void period for our client. This important transaction is one of the biggest industrial deals to have been agreed in the North West this year.”
