Young entrepreneur launches music and lifestyle brand

A 20-year-old North West entrepreneur has launched record label and lifestyle concept R82 Records.

R82’s main goal is to expose and promote young talent and to work with them to develop their careers in the music industry.

Rather than focusing on one area, the ambitious R82 plans to create a social and online community for young people which is aimed at being a central point for all things relating to music, news, events and fashion in popular culture.

Founder Becky Brown said: “We aren’t just a record label, we are a brand which represents popular young culture and urban lifestyle. We will be working on events, promotions and spin out concepts including a clothing line and we’re continuously looking at new concepts and projects. We have recently signed our first two artists – Manchester based rapper ‘YT’ and duo ‘Metz & Trix’ – and we really look forward to working with them.”

In June R82 will be releasing a compilation album of Manchester based artists called ‘City Dreams’.  Incorporated within the project is a competition for designers to submit their artwork to a portal and the successful contestants will see their work on the album cover.

R82 also has plans to establish partnerships with a number of businesses and brands which will have the ultimate benefit to the R82 community.

R82 is being advised by Kuits entertainment and media lawyer, Rudi Kidd, who was a coordinator of ‘In The City’ working closely with Factory Records founder Tony Wilson.
