Sales nudge up at Topps

LIKE-for-like sales at Topps Tiles in its third quarter increased by 2.1%, compared with a 1.9% decline last year.
The Handforth-based retailer said that sales for the 13 week-period to the end of June were “in line with management’s expectations”, and that it remains comfortable with full-year market expectations. Analysts’ estimations of the adjusted profits likely to be made by the retailer range from £11.5m to £14.0m.
During the quarter, Tiles opened three new stores, bringing the total it currently operates in the UK to 322.
“We continue to target a total of 325 stores for the year end,” it added.
