Daresbury IT group adept4 swoops

AN ambitious North West IT services provider has snapped up a software development and health & safety consultancy.

adept4, which is based at Sci-Tech Daresbury, has bought TGF Consultants, which has offices in Lymm, and Cockermouth, Cumbria.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, should take adept4’s turnover from £2.25m in 2011 to more than £4m by the end of this year. The addition of TGF will take staff numbers from 19 to close to 50.

TGF provides a range of software development services to businesses and also it also offers health and safety consultancy services to customers in the nuclear sector.

Staff based in Lymm will relocate to adept4’s base in the coming months. while the Cockermouth office will remain open.

“Its nuclear services business continues to be extremely successful. The acquisition enables us to give clients an extended service offer and to explore synergies which will deliver benefits to our clients and create new revenue streams for us.”

adept4, which also has offices in Leeds, London and Bracknell, recently won a £1m contract with maritime engineering company Viking SeaTech.

TGF directors Alison Fletcher and Dave Goodwill will continue to work for adept4 while a third director, John Tymons, will retire after a transitional period.
