Media Mix: Mediafour, Skylab and the Sharp Project
MACCLESFIELD video production company Mediafour has produced the title sequence for BBC One’s Football League Show.
The intro was filmed in Macclesfield and Stockport and showcases the street football skills of Theo Speaks and Rowen Pegler, both from Greater Manchester.
“The Football League Show attracts over a million fans every week, including myself, so the new introduction needed to be as exciting and dramatic as the competition itself,” said Jon Falkner, the firm’s owner.
“The sequence sees Theo and Rowen perform an incredible freestyle routine in the streets of Macclesfield coupled with archive footage of the league’s most prolific stars from over the years, from Dixie Dean to Steve Claridge.”
Mediafour was commissioned by IMG Sports Media which produces the show for the BBC. Earlier in the year it created animated sequences for the BBC’s British Olympic Dreams, a series following the fortunes of British stars in the run-up to London 2012.

TRAFFORD-based Gamma is supplying high speed internet and telephone services to the Sharp Project media centre in east Manchester.
Sharp Project is already served by Macclesfield-based NWIX but this move is intended to give tenants a “high level of resilience”.
Project director Sue Woodward said: “Our tenants can now access ultra-fast broadband, a vital requirement for any media based business that needs to send and receive large image and video files quickly and securely.
“They can also now use high quality IP telephony services utilising the same connectivity, giving them a much more flexible telephony service than traditional services.
“Superfast, reliable broadband is vital for digital production businesses to flourish and we have the technology which allows them excel in this increasingly competitive field.”
Gamma employs around 85 staff at its Trafford Park base.

MANCHESTER-based digital agency Skylab has been selected to create the new ITN Productions website after a competitive pitch.
ITN Productions produces content for the broadcast, digital and corporate sectors including news, current affairs, entertainment and factual.
