Security manufacturer buys North East firm

ROCHDALE security products business, GJD Manufacturing, has acquired a firm in Newcastle that makes infrared devices.
It said the aquisition of Advanced LED Technology would complement its activities and give it a competitive advantage.
GJD’s parent MTD Holdings conducted the deal, taking a controlling stake in Advanced LED with the support of Barclays.
GJD has sales of £3m and employs 32 people making detection equipment used by the surveillance industry such as sensors and CCTV.
MTD’s managing director Mark Tibbenham, said: “The acquisition of Advanced LED is strategically important to us and provides a quality product that adds value to the GJD proposition providing us with a clear competitive advantage.
The transaction was led for Barclays by relationship director Philip Middlebrough. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
