BOLTON-based fume extraction business Clean Air has been sold to a Yorkshire engineering firm in a £420,000 cash deal.

It has been bought by Halifax-based Perrott Engineering Group from Havelock Europa, an AIM-listed Scottish retail and educational interiors group which has owned the firm since 2004.

In the year to December 31 2011, Clean Air, which specialises in systems for schools and colleges, made a pre-tax loss of £50,000 on sales of £2.1m.

At the year end it had net assets of £970,000 – £310,000 of operating assets and £660,000 in cash due from other group companies.

Havelock’s chief executive Eric Prescott said: “In line with our strategy of focusing Havelock Europa on the development of its core business of interiors fittings and fit out services, I am pleased to announce the sale of Clean Air to Perrott Engineering.”
