Expansion for Business Growth Hub

THE Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub is to appoint over 20 new staff to its Manchester-based team to help deliver its expanded business support services.

The hub, a sister company of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, aims to grow business activity in the region by providing advice and services to businesses in areas such as finance, innovation and training.

The expansion is being part-funded by a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the value of which has not yet been disclosed.

The new jobs cover management, business growth, mentoring, contract management and marketing services and include positions for business growth managers, a digital and creative media sector development manager, mentoring managers and advisors, start-up managers and co-ordinators, an ERDF contract manager and an events and marketing team.

Director Richard Jeffery said: “Accessible and affordable business support for growing companies in the region is critical to ensuring Greater Manchester’s economic recovery.

“The extra 20 roles we are creating within the hub team will enable us to reach and work with significantly more ambitious businesses to make sure they receive the perfect package of practical, financial and management support to build their growth.”

The roles will involve working with a portfolio of services that includes Access to Finance North West, North West Business Angels, ENWORKS, UK Trade and Investment’s (UKTI) international trade delivery team and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) for North West England.
