BARCLAYS has strengthened its Liverpool team by appointing Sean Askham as relationship director.
A recruit from Yorkshire Bank, he becomes Barclays’ 11th relationship director for Merseyside.
Originally from Sheffield, Mr Askham was with Yorkshire Bank for more than 25 years, covering a wide range of roles in locations that include Blackpool, Stockport, Chester and most recently Liverpool.
He said: “I am delighted to have joined the Barclays Corporate Banking Team in Liverpool and am looking forward to working with new and existing clients to help them achieve their goals. There is a real desire amongst everyone I have met to provide great service in every interaction with their customers. ALDERMORE, the ambitious business lender, has appointed Dan Summerfield as northern regional sales director of its invoice finance business.
Based in Manchester and reporting to Nick Smith, northern region managing director , Mr Summerfield will lead the firm’s invoice finance sales team throughout in the North West and Yorkshire. He joins from ABN AMRO, where for the past 10 years he was sales director for the Yorkshire and North East.

MACDONALD Manchester Hotel & Spa has appointed Adam Reckert as its new manager.
Formerly with Marriot Manchester, where he was director of operations, Mr Reckert has 13 years’ industry experience including several years overseas in the Gulf, The Seychelles, Barcelona and Nigeria.
In his new role he will oversee front office, housekeeping, engineering, spa & leisure and food & beverage services at the hotel.
He said: “I can’t wait to get stuck into the challenges my new role will bring. It’s a landmark hotel and I’m looking forward to building on the great reputation it has.”
