Plant Impact director departs

BIOTECH firm Plant Impact has announced the departure of director Mark Wyatt from its board.
The Preston-based business, which specialises in crop nutrition and health products, said that non-executive director Mr Wyatt had stepped down on August 31.
Mr Wyatt, who joined the board two years ago, has joined Imperial College London as bioscience new ventures manager.
Plant Impact chairman Martin Robinson said it is in the process of recruiting two industry experienced non-executive directors to further strengthen the board and should announce the new arrivals later this month.
Commenting on Mr Wyatt, he said: “His support and guidance has been very valuable to us, particularly during and immediately post flotation on AIM. On behalf of the board I would like to thank Mark for all his efforts and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Plant Impact’s work is focused on relieving stress caused to crops by temperature, drought and light and Alethea is its latest technology to be trialled.
Other technologies include PiNT, a harvest maximiser that enhances plant growth and yield with reduced nutrient inputs, even on marginal soils and Speedo for accelerated maturation of crops, earlier colour, sugar and harvest while also improving the speed of nutrient uptake.
Plant Impact has also developed BugOil, a benign insecticide based on plant extracts and essential oils.
