Energy firm Inenco powers ahead

NORTH West energy management company Inenco has doubled the size of its Lancashire base.
The Lytham St Annes-based firm, which is owned by Yorkshire company Spice, has upped the space in Petros House on St Andres Road North to 24,000 sq ft to accomodate its 227 staff.
The company, which manages nearly £1bn of gas and electricity for blue chip customers such as Marks & Spencer and food manufacturer Kellogg’s – has doubled in size in the last five years.
Inenco, which was set up more than 40 years ago in an office above the former Woolworth’s shop in St Annes with a handful of staff, is now the UK’s largest independent energy analyst.
Since it was bought by Spice in 2006 Inenco has also acquired three companies in the North West – Saturn Energy, Energy 2000 and Altrincham-based Nifes.
Managing director Michael Abbott said: “The expansion of our operation at Petros House shows how far we have come as a company and also highlights our firm commitment to our home town base.
“Inenco’s services, in the fields of energy purchasing, efficiency and carbon reduction, are becoming increasingly crucial to business and public sector customers across the UK.
“We are continuing to focus on building our business across the North West, benefitting from the unparalleled energy industry expertise that exists within the region.”
