MACCLESFIELD-based integrated agency Vibe has been awarded the contract to provide design and marketing support to the Connecting Cheshire Partnership following a tender process.
The partnership, between the four local authorities across Cheshire, aims to bring 96% coverage of superfast fibre broadband to communities and businesses across the county by the end of 2015.
Vibe will develop a marketing strategy to communicate the benefits of switching to fibre broadband to both home and business users. The agency will also deliver a campaign across outdoor advertising, press adverts, brochures and events.
Dave O’Hearns, creative director at Vibe, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for us to support Connecting Cheshire in the roll-out of its multi-channel marketing programme and to help communicate the brand and the benefits of upgrading to superfast broadband.”

DIGITAL agency BLISS has produced a global Facebook app for Education UK, the British Council’s website which helps prospective international students find out more about studying in the UK.
Education UK offers advice and information to over 2.2 million prospective international students each year through its website.
BLISS’ managing director Jon Stutfield said: “Moving away from home to study for the first time is daunting enough as it is but moving to a different country is a whole different ball game. Education UK identified a need to offer bespoke advice to overseas students wanting to explore the UK’s education landscape and we responded with a simple to use and informative app where students can ask peers from their country specific questions about their experience.”
Rachel Newton, digital communications manager at the British Council, said: “Each year, over 400,000 international students come to the UK to study at a university or college for their higher education, and a further 600,000 international students come to do a short English language course.
“For these international students, coming to the UK is really exciting – but it can be a little daunting too, trying to work out what to study, how to apply, how to find accommodation etc. We offer lots of advice on the Education UK website, but we wanted to give students additional support and answer their personal questions.”
