Windfarm contracts for Roxtec

BURY-based cable seal manufacturer Roxtec is to supply four onshore windfarm projects for ScottishPower Renewables (SPR).

The deal will see the Swedish-owned company supply a windfarm Arecleoch, South Ayrshire and three, new-build windfarms in Middleton, near Newton Mearns; Harestanes, near Moffat; and Carland Cross, Cornwall.

Managing director Graham O’Hare said: “Roxtec is now becoming the industry standard for sealing cables in the windfarm sector. Roxtec seals the cables in the cable trench that connects the windfarm array cables to the substation.”

Roxtec was founded in Sweden in 1990. It has a global turnover of £115m and is active in 70 markets. In the UK it employs 17 staff and had sales of around £3.7m in 2012.
