Hammonds helps the homeless

LAWYERS from Hammonds have been helping the homeless in Manchester get back to work.

The initiative was part of the Business in the Community’s business action on homelessness scheme, and staff at Hammonds held a series of training sessions on CV and interview skills in a move to help people find jobs.

The aim of the scheme is to break the cycle of no job and no home, and offers two-week work placements which can lead to permanent employment.

Lawyer Jenna Carr, who was one of the volunteers on the day, said: “We were pleased to be able to spend time helping a number of disadvantaged people with motivational and employability training.

“We feel it is important to get involved in schemes like this as part of the firm’s commitment to the local community. This is a fun and practical way for us to do our bit to help people to find their way back into work.”
