William Eagles sale saves 16 jobs

A 163-year-old Salford engineering business has been sold out of receivership, saving 16 jobs.

William Eagles makes fire fighting equipment and assembles pressure regulating valves for the marine and petrochemical industries.

It was majority owned by director Philip Bayliss but has been sold to Telford-based Wrekin Shell Mouldings, a foundry producing complex castings.

The sale was handled by accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth which had been trading the business since being appointed administrative receivers in October.

Joint receiver Jeremy Oddie said: “It is a major accomplishment to secure a buyer for the business in what has been a difficult sector for many years. We wish the team at William Eagles and their new owner, Wrekin Shell Mouldings, the best of luck in the future following the buyout deal.”
