OLDHAM Council has approved plans for 142 “micro apartments” aimed at key workers.
Hong Kong-based developer G-Suite Holdings is behind the scheme in Cardinal Street which has been designed by Liverpool architect Falconer Chester Hall.
Managing director Adam Hall said: “This type of accommodation has already proved popular elsewhere in the UK for those looking to take their first step on the housing ladder such as key workers and post-graduate students, and will help open up the residential market to a wider spectrum of society.”
Work on site has begun and the project is due for completion in Spring 2015.
