Wirral manufacturer bought by private investor

A WIRRAL-based firm that makes canopies for fork lift trucks has been bought by an investor.

William Ravenna has acquired Neston’s BMB Weatherproof Canopies from Brian and Angela Blanchfield for an undisclosed sum.

The firm makes fork lift cabs, as well as bespoke boot liners for hatchback cars.

Corporate finance adviser BCMS, which has an office in Haslingden, advised the vendors.

Ilan Elfassy, who managed the transaction, said: “UK manufacturing has been resurgent over the last 18 months and M&A activity in the space has been equally vibrant. BMB Weatherproof Canopies is an excellent business, which has enjoyed strong growth in its chosen markets. With the addition of William Ravenna’s drive and vision the company will undoubtedly go from strength to strength.”

BCMS said 20 companies expressed serious interest in BMB but Mr Ravenna’s offer was the “most compelling”.
