Building work up for grabs

SMEs from around Manchester are being invited to meet with a construction company to find out how they can win work on a £2.5m new-build housing project.

The first phase of the development programme in Tamworth Road, Trafford will see eight three-bedroom houses plus a three-storey apartment block built over 44 weeks, as part of a £30m investment in the Old Trafford area, with construction due to start at the end of March.

Bullock Construction is looking for a range of specialist SMEs, to complete internal and external works including drainage, joinery, electrical installations, and landscaping.

The free event on Thursday, January 12, from 7.30am to 10am is hosted by Constructionline at the Trafford Soccerdome, Trafford Park and will allow local subcontractors to find out about securing work with the firm.

Client relationship manager at Constructionline, Cheryl Wrench, said: “Events like these act as a gateway for small suppliers to find out about working with major contractors like Bullock Construction and can help them find out about winning new contracts in their areas.

“The event in Trafford will provide an overview of the firm as well as details on the subcontractor partners it is keen to work with in the area to deliver the development scheme.”
