First look at Morecambe West End homes

SPECIALIST build-to-rent developer PlaceFirst has revealed the first images of its new £5.5m development in the Lancashire seaside town of Morecambe.

West End One is a collection of 51 bespoke houses and apartments clustered around a central, landscaped courtyard.

The new homes have been created through innovative remodelling of 27 former guesthouses and, when completed, will offer a mix of one, two, three, and four bedroom homes.

All homes will be available for private rent with PlaceFirst which designs, builds, and manages a growing portfolio of high quality, fair value homes.

The project is the first phase of a two phase development that will see over 50 empty, former guesthouses transformed into modern, energy efficient family homes.

It is being delivered in partnership with Lancaster City Council.

PlaceFirst started work on site in May and report good progress with the first homes ready for release in January 2016.

Details of individual properties and rents are expected to be released autumn 2015.

Managing director of PlaceFirst David Smith-Milne said: “These images really capture the transformation of the empty properties and how we are remodelling them to create aspirational, affordable homes for rent.

“This development will raise the quality of private renting in Morecambe and breathe new life and confidence into the west end area of the town.”
