Topps Tiles revenue up to £212m

THE spectacular growth of Topps Tiles is continuing with revenue up 5.3% to £212m.
Last year’s turnover nudged past £195m, which was 8% ahead of the previous year and the two-year upward trend now represents sales growth of about 14%.
In its report for the 53-week period to October 3, the Handford, Cheshire-based company highlighted the success of its online “visualiser”, and said plans were in place for a roll-out of new merchandising treatments across the existing store estate following a successful trial in its latest lab store in Worcester.
In the last quarter, 17 new ranges have also been launched, with a focus on collaborative, exclusive innovations with leading manufacturers.
Recent own brand developments have included a complete tile care range, and a unique new tile offering “Regional Reflections”, which replicates natural stone from around the UK.
Meanwhile, the company opened three new core stores and two boutiques and now trades from 348 stores.
Chief executive Matthew Williams said: “Topps will complete a successful year, with good growth in profits and a record level of turnover, both of which are directly attributable to our strategy of out-specialising the specialist.
“As a result of this, we are confident of hitting our one third market share goal by the end of this year and are well advanced on developing our next strategic goal for the organisation.”
