CPUK gets £1.4m hospital redevelopment contract

BUILDING group Construction Partnership UK (CPUK) has been appointed to create a new state-of-the-art endoscopy suite as part of a £1.4m hospital redevelopment project.
The new facility at Spire Cheshire Hospital in Stretton, near Warrington, is scheduled to open its doors to patients in January.
West Lancashire-based CPUK has a wealth of experience in the health sector, working to deliver major projects across the North West.
This is its first project for Spire Healthcare, an independent hospital group in the UK which operates 38 hospitals and 12 clinics across England, Wales and Scotland.
CPUK Group managing director Steve Burke said: “We’re very excited to be working with Spire Cheshire Hospital in the construction of its new endoscopy unit.
“I’m sure our considerable experience in delivering healthcare projects on time and to budget played a major part in sealing our appointment.
“This is our first project with Spire Healthcare and we look forward to working with them in the future as they continue to develop and enhance facilities across the country.”
The new purpose built endoscopy suite will blend seamlessly with the existing hospital and is the latest stage in a £1.4m investment programme.
Nationally, Spire delivered tailored, personalised care to more than 260,000 in-patients and day-case patients in 2014, and it is the top provider by volume of knee and hip operations in the UK.
Hospital director Verlie Brazel said: “Building and opening a new endoscopy suite at Spire Cheshire Hospital is a very exciting milestone for us.
“The new development will further enhance our ability to provide a comprehensive, quality range of services to our patients.”
CPUK has a wealth of experience in the health sector, and has successfully worked on major projects in both the private sector and for the NHS.
Its portfolio of work includes the creation of an NHS walk in centre for Liverpool Community Healthcare.
It has also built a number of specialist state-of-the-art care homes, including a £3m facility in Hazel Grove, Stockport, and a £3.5m pioneering Alzheimer’s Care Facility in Southport.
The CPUK Group operates from purpose built headquarters at White Moss Business Park in Skelmersdale.
The latest contract brings CPUK’s growing order book to more than £60m with work in all sectors, much through negotiated contracts.
The company is now working on projects across the North West and the Midlands as it looks to grow that order book further in the next 12 months.
