Contractor lands £10m of work with Whitbread
MANCHESTER construction and integrated support servces specialist McGoff & Byrne has secured more than £10m of work for leisure giant Whitbread plc.
In line with Whitbread’s ambitious expansion plans for its Premier Inn brand, McGoff & Byrne has been appointed to deliver a new build 63-bed hotel in Buxton worth £3.3m, a 63-bed refurbishment/new build in Aberystwyth worth £3.1m, along with two hotel extensions in Crewe, two hotel extensions in Wolverhampton and a 20-bed extension in Denton, Manchester; with a further tranche of projects in the pipeline for 2016.
Having worked with Whitbread on various projects spanning the last 30 years, Altrincham-based McGoff & Byrne has cemented itself as a key build partner for the FTSE100 Company with projects now being secured on a purely negotiated basis.
McGoff & Byrne’s pre-construction team has been deployed to help navigate the planning process and ensure that all planned start on site dates are realised.
McGoff & Byrne, along with a select number of other contractors, will work closely with Whitbread to help realise its target of adding an additional 23,000 extra rooms to its portfolio.

Premier Inn is the UK’s largest hotel brand operating around 650 hotels and more than 50,000 hotel rooms nationally. The company has ambitious targets to add an additional 23,000 extra rooms to its portfolio in Britain by 2018.
