London Road Fire Station opens its doors to the public for the first time

PROPERTY developer Allied London is offering the public the first chance in 30 years to see beyond the front gates of London Road Fire Station.
Allied London completed its purchase of London Road Fire Station last month, for a figure believed to be around £10m, but held its first consultation in December of last year.
In the second in the series of Create London Road events, taking place on May 13th from 8.30-10.30am, the event will outline the projected vision for the Manchester landmark – originally a fire, police and ambulance station and coroner’s court that opened in 1906.
It will begin with a talk from Allied London boss Michael Ingall in the former Engine Room.
Drawing on public feedback from the first consultation, the event will explain how the concept, usages and potential operators for this historic Grade II listed building have evolved.
The public will be invited to explore and comment on the emerging plans for London Road, and the consultation will also launch a series of events taking place in the summer.
To be a part of the consultation process, people can join the London Road Club, via the website createlondonroad.com. Feedback from last December’s consultation event is also available to download from the website.
All London Road Club members will receive an invite to the event, with places offered on a first come first serve basis.
