Landlord cooks up a treat for business park occupiers

MANCHESTER-based real estate agent Knight Frank has overseen the delivery of new on-site catering facilities at Warth Business Park in Bury.
The café/meeting point is the first phase of wider site improvements and one of a number of improvements carried out by regeneration specialist St Modwen which acquired the 14-acre site late last year.
The works included new restaurant quality catering facilities, new extraction system and re-designed and refurbished dining area to create a communal hub for tenants wanting on-site refreshments or a meeting point for clients.
Nick Platt, partner of Knight Frank’s project and building consultancy team, said: “We decided to prioritise the refurbishment of the café to give existing Business Centre tenants extra facilities and added value ahead of further site improvement works.’’
“The existing café was very poor and rarely used but the new space is already proving hugely popular. The new facility is finished with new contemporary finishes and restaurant quality kitchen is a real asset to the Business Park, providing an excellent relaxed meeting point and dining experience’’
The operators, a local husband and wife catering company, were selected by St Modwen.
St Modwen regional director Steven Knowles said: “When developing a business centre aimed at local start-up business you have to offer something a bit different, a bit extra. The café offers just this and has proved to be very popular with occupiers at Warth.
“We are delighted with the end result and the reaction.”
Tenant Donna Dalton founder of DMD Recruitment said: “Having a lovely space on site where you can get excellent home-made food and take clients for coffee is a huge asset. It has already made a big difference not just to staff well-being but creating links between tenants who now meet in the café and interact.”
Warth Industrial Park has a range of accommodation totalling 257,035sq ft providing industrial space and storage compounds as well as the serviced office accommodation in the Business Centre. It is home to around 108 occupiers.
