Childcare firm’s growth spurt

A CHILDCARE business launched by former footballer Rob Jones and his wife Sue is enjoying a growth spurt.
Warrington-based Kids Academy Childcare has agreed a funding deal with Barclays to extend Kalgarth Grange, one of its three nurseries.
Kids Academy Childcare was established 10 years ago by Sue and Rob Jones and looks after more than 450 children aged between six weeks and five years old. The firm employs 80 people at its three sites.
Kalgarth Grange will be able to accomodate 50 more children after the extension, taking its capacity to 167.
Sue Jones commented, “We take pride in offering an innovative, progressive and modern outlook on all aspects of childcare provision for all our staff, parents and children.
“Many things have changed within the childcare industry which is now a way of life, a far cry from the days when friends or family would turn their nose up at the idea of leaving children to go to work.”
Jackie Warburton, relationship director for Barclays Business said, “We are delighted to welcome the Kids Academy to Barclays Business and provide the funding support to assist them in delivering their growth aspirations. It is essential we support businesses like Kids Academy which are vital for a propsperous local economy.”
Former Liverpool defender Rob Jones also runs a football coachiong business across Cheshire.
