Software firm wins Scottish council contract

SALFORD Software has signed a deal worth £23,000 with a Scottish council to provide it with a system to manage temporary workers.
The deal with Aberdeen City Council for an Affiliate Records Management System will make it easier for temps to access everything from buildings to the IT network.
“ARMS is an excellent way to make sure that temporary workers have access to those resources that they require access to during their temporary attachment to Aberdeen Council – but also to ensure that access isn’t granted for any longer than it should be and that data is safe from any potential abuse,” said James Doggart, managing director of Salford Software.
Steve Rose, a project leader at the council, added: “The new ARMS system will allow us to provision resources for agency temps, visiting consultants and others who are not on our payroll system based upon the identity of the user; who they are, what role they are fulfilling – and therefore what systems they require access to in order to do their job – and for how long.”
