Create lands £5m university refurb

BLACKPOOL-based Create Construction has been awarded a £5m contract to refurbish and extend Bowland Main Building at Lancaster University.
The 42-week project, which includes two floors of open plan office space, 148 student bedrooms, a cinema, retail units and a bar, is due to be completed by September 2011.
Create said it won the job after bidding against six other national contractors.
Managing director Paul Mathison said: “Bowland Main is the fifth and largest project that we have carried out on behalf of Lancaster University and we are delighted that we have been chosen to deliver such an exciting scheme.
“Clients such as Lancaster University, are the cornerstones of our business and the fact that we continue to be awarded contracts by them, is testament to the high standard of product, service and aftercare, that we continually provide.”
