Lettings latest: CBRE delivers 103,000 sq ft to Royal Mail; Recycling firm reuses space at Swinton; and more

ROYAL Mail has taken 103,000 sq ft of space at Stakehill Industrial Estate in Middleton, north Manchester on a short-term lease to deal with next year’s census.
The organisation has taken on the extra space to allow it to deal with the increased workload expected from the posting, tracking and delivery of household questionnaires.
CB Richard Ellis and King Sturge acted on behalf of landlord, Ventnor. Royal Mail was advised by Capita Symonds.
Paul Cook, associate director of Industrial Agency at CBRE North West, said: “The fully refurbished cross docked facility was ready for immediate occupation, which appealed to Royal Mail’s occupational needs. Occupation was also provided within only 48 hours of agreeing terms.
“The deal serves to highlight once again the strong performance of the industrial market in north Manchester. Having seen a spate of lettings including JD Sports at Kingsway in Rochdale and Peel securing B8 planning consent for Hareshill Distribution Park in Heywood, we are confident that they will act as a catalyst for further activity in this area.”
CBRE also let 180,000 sq ft to Royal Mail at Trafford Park earlier in the year.
