Sellafield tenders for £250m silos contract

THE operator of the Sellafield nuclear facility in West Cumbria is looking for firms to bid for a contract worth up to £250m for a new silos maintenance facility at the site.

The contract, which is expected to be worth between £125m-£250m, is a design and build deal which will involve the demolition of existing solos and the design, procurement and construction of the new solos maintenance facility.

This also involves the procurement and commissioning of all the necessary plant and equipment.

The three-phase contract is expected to start on site by October next year and be complete by June 2017.

Tenders or requests to participate should be received by February 22, 2011.
