Appointments: Deputy district judge for Harrison Drury; and more…

LANCASHIRE-based law firm Harrison Drury has boosted its team with the appointment of deputy district judge Amanda Webster as a consultant.
Ms Webster, who qualified as a solicitor in 1987, has previously held positions at Brabners Chaffe Street and DWF.
In her new role, Ms Webster will oversee litigation services, manage projects and specialise in contentious work at Harrison Drury, which has offices in Preston and Blackburn.
John Chesworth, managing partner at Harrison Drury, said: “With 22 years’ experience as a solicitor, coupled with her background as a deputy district judge in the civil courts covering Yorkshire, Amanda has a wealth of specialist knowledge and I’m sure she is going to be a fantastic influence on her colleagues and will prove invaluable to Harrison Drury and its clients.”

BURY-based intelligent technology company the Continum Group has appointed Will McSorland as sales director.
Mr McSorland, 43, has previously held roles at two big chip companies in the industry Plessey Semiconductors and Sun Microsystems.
The move follows the sale of his company IT Operations Services.
