Cobalt tenders for £2.6m worth of work

LIVERPOOL-based social housing firm Cobalt Housing, which is part of the Vicinity Group, has issued three tenders for work totalling almost £2.6m.

The organisation, which manages around 5,500 homes in areas of North East Liverpool including Croxteth, Norris Green, Gillmoss and Fazakerly, has issued an £800,000, four-year tender for construction work to homes, which will include extending existing properties. A tender document issued by the firm suggests that this work could be delivered through a framework agreement consisting of five different lots.

Similarly, the firm has also jointly issied a £1.3m tender alongside Liverpool Housing Trust for a two-year contract to complete  alterations to homes allowing them to be adapted so that people with disabilities can use them. The work is broken up into four seperate lots – two of which are for minor adaptations such as the installation of grab rails, lever taps and extra electricity sockets. One is for the construction of rampos and the other is for the installation of larger equipment such as level asccess showers, kitchens and downstairs toilets.

The third tender is for a two-year contract worth £480,000 for grounds maintenance work around 56 blocks of flats in the Norris Green, Croxteth and Fazakerley areas.

The deadline for the submission of all three tender bids is January 28.
