Roxtec moves into the fast lane
A BURY company is motoring ahead after winning a contract with the Highways Agency.
Roxtec will supply its safety seals for use in the control cabinets which will be introduced with the launch of the Agency’s managed motorways scheme.
Roxtec’s UK managing director Graham O’Hare said the managed motorways programme, which is designed to improve capacity and reduce congestion, is now being rolled out across England after a successful trial on the M42 near Birmingham.
He said: “The system uses electronic motorway signs to give drivers a range of information, including variable speed limits, opening up the hard shoulder as an extra lane, and traffic conditions.
“The signs are controlled by combined equipment cabinets and this is where Roxtec comes in. Our seals protect the cabinets from a range of hazards including water, vermin, dust, vibration and fire.”
