Character World license boost

NORTH West textile company Character World has won a license to produce a bedroom range for The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the popular children’s book.
Based in Handforth, near Stockport, family-owned Character World, which sources its products in the Far East, will produce duvet covers, curtains, cushions, towels and poncho towel, fleece blanket and rugs featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The popular children’s book written by Eric Carle is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Over 29 million copies of The Very Hungry Caterpillar have been sold since it was first published.
Danny Schweiger, director at Character World said: “The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a classic and much loved property that’s been a prominent children’s story for generations and this looks set to continue.
“We’re excited to have been awarded the license and I know our design team have been working overtime to create the best possible designs to complement the book imagery whilst bringing in some special touches.”
Character World produces goods featuring a host of popular children’s brands including Disney Princess, High School Musical, Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora the Explorer and the Simpsons.
