UKFast signs record Sharks sponsorship
NORTH West web hosting company UKFast has signed a record-breaking sponsorship deal with Sale Sharks rugby club.
The seven-figure deal over three years will see the Manchester company, run by rugby-mad businessman Lawrence Jones, replace McAfee as the Sharks’ headline sponsor.
UKFast has been involved with the club for nine years and has individual sponsorship deals with fly half Charlie Hodgson and team mate Lee Thomas. It has also just launched the Sharks’ brand new website at www.salesharks.com.
Mr Jones believes the partnership, belived to be worth more than £4.5m, is a natural progression for UKFast: “Since becoming technical sponsor back in the Heywood Road days our fortunes as a business have grown in line with Sale’s stature.”
“We made a profit of £1.46m on sales of £6.3m last year and we really wanted to put something back into the community. Sale Sharks does such a lot in this respect, with children and schools and the players represent values of power and passion, which I believe in.”
Sale Sharks’ commercial director, Nathan Bombrys added: “UKFast has been involved with the club longer than any of our other sponsors. We’ve seen their business grow alongside the success of the club.”
With other businesses feeling the pinch and cutting their marketing budgets UKFast continues to grow and the financial burdens of sponsorship are overweighed by the opportunities offered by a heightened relationship with the Sharks.”
