Rewards card to boost business tourist spend

AN EXECUTIVE perks card has been launched in Liverpool today to boost the impact that business tourism has on the city’s economy.
The Liverpool Delegate Card gives business visitors to the city special offers and discounts on everything from restaurants to retailers across the city, including Liverpool ONE, Metquarter, Albert Dock and the City Central BID area.
A joint venture between the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool (ACC) and tourist board The Mersey Partnership, the card is available to delegates at the ACC’s BT Convention Centre.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, said: “We are committed to ensuring that events at our venue deliver optimum value for clients and their delegates.
“In today’s trying economic climate it is more important than ever that we work closely with the city to deliver a complete event experience for clients and delegates.”
Pam Wilsher, acting director of tourism at The Mersey Partnership, said: “Business tourism has a significant economic impact across Liverpool city region, and it is essential we work closely with ACC Liverpool to ensure we develop and deliver attractive benefits for delegates visiting the city.
“The Liverpool Delegate Card will encourage delegates to discover the city and what it has to offer in the way of leisure, therefore spreading the benefits across the visitor economy.”
More than 85,000 cards have been produced, which will be offered to delegates at forthcoming conferences, including NHS Confederation, CASE Europe and the TUC conference.
