Mills & Reeve moves to New York Street

LAW firm Mills & Reeve Solicitors is to move into new offices at Bruntwood’s 1 New York Street building in Manchester city centre.

The business, which established a base in Manchester three years ago following the transfer of Addleshaw Goddard’s family law team, has taken a five-year lease on a 4,100 sq ft office in the building. It is currently based in smaller offices at Peter House.

Nigel Shepherd, partner and head of Mills & Reeves’ Manchester office, said: “This move to 1 New York Street follows rapid growth and success and signals our further investment and commitment to building our business in Manchester. We believe that this building offers us an excellent location to continue our successful business in the region”.

The firm was advised on the move by Manchester-based property consultancy OBI.

Will Lewis, a partner at OBI, said: “Mills & Reeve are the second professional services business we have advised on a relocation to 1 New York Street this year and we are delighted that our clients have selected an impressive building from both a staff and client perspective.”

Andrew Cowell of Bruntwood said that only 27,000 sq ft of space remained available in the building and that there were high levels of interest in the remaining space.
