Seddon starts on Bolton Travelodge

WORK has started on a new 80-bed Travelodge hotel in Bolton.
Bolton-based Seddon Construction is handling the £3m scheme in the Merchant’s Quarter area of the town which is due for completion later this year.
Sister company Seddon Developments owned the land and struck the deal with Travelodge.
Jamie Seddon of Seddon Developments said: “We are delighted to secure this deal and welcome such a high quality operator to Bolton. The arrival of Travelodge further enhances Bolton’s reputation as one of the North West’s popular destinations for both business and social travellers.”
Tony O’Brien, UK development director at Travelodge Hotels said: “We have worked hard to secure this new hotel site in Bolton and are looking forward to establishing a stronger presence in the town.
“We want to give travellers every reason to visit Bolton and stay longer – we see increasing the availability of low cost accommodation in the area as central to achieving this objective.”
The development is a key part of Bolton Council’s masterplan for the Merchant’s Quarter area. Councillor Ismail Ibrahim, Bolton’s executive member for development and regeneration, said: “It’s fantastic to see private sector investment coming into the town and creating jobs for local people. The arrival of Travelodge will significantly regenerate this area of Bolton and it is ideally placed to attract visitors to the town.”
