In Brief: Contract boost for Seddon; New clients for WWB and Kuits.
BOLTON-based construction company G&J Seddon is to start work on two retirement apartment blocks in Blackpool, worth £10m of work.

BOLTON-based construction company G&J Seddon is to start work on two retirement apartment blocks in Blackpool, worth £10m of work.

Each of the four-storey Extra Care developments, built for Great Places Housing Group, is worth £4.9m.

The 46  self contained apartments at Cherry Tree House, on Cherry Tree Road, and 48 at Ashfield Court, on Ashfield Road in Bispham, will have an Art Deco feel and include communal facilities and 24 hour care service available.

G&J Seddon has an annual turnover of around £240m and employs 1,700 people.

WWB Recruitment has been appointed to provide financial recruitment services to catering, hospitality and facilities management group Elior UK.  The roles will be at all levels.

Elior UK has a turnover of £262mn and employs 12,000 people.  The company provides catering for the education and healthcare sectors, as well as catering and hospitality of all types within sporting, retail, travel and heritage venues.
Manchester-based WWB was appointed to the panel  by tender.

MANCHESTER law firm Kuit Steinart Levy has been appointed to provide legal services to financial services group, AWD Group , which is based in Old Trafford.

Kuits will advise AWD on their litigation, commercial and property work.

80 Manchester-based Co-operative staff raised £13,000 for the hearing chairty RNID by completing the Great Manchester Run on Sunday .

As well as raising money  which will go to RNID’s Hear to Help service reducing isolation for people with a hearing loss, the Co-operative runners also helped promote RNID’s hearing check at the event, as part of the race to get one million people to take the hearing check in 2009
