Lovell seeks extension on Wirral Pathfinder

LOVELL, the affordable housing division of builder Morgan Sindall, has applied to extend its permission to build 283 homes in Rock Ferry on the Wirral.

The company was granted outline permission in 2007 to construct 283 houses and apartments as part of the Labour Government’s Pathfinder housing market renewal scheme.

Wirral Council’s planning committee will consider two applications from Lovell next week, one for 135 homes, the other for 148 on land stretching between New Chester Road and Bedford Road in the Fiveways area.

A spokesperson for New Heartlands, the body managing the Pathfinder scheme in Merseyside, said Lovell had already constructed 114 homes at the Fiveways site. The extension is for the remaining phases.

Councillors are set to grant the extension to the £37m scheme.
