‘Virtual manufacturer’ in administration
A white goods business that billed itself as a “virtual manufacturer” has gone into administration.
Premium Appliance Brands outsourced the production of fridges, cookers and washing machines to the Far East and sold the products to High Street retailers.
It was established in 2002 by Peter Brazier and Guy Weaver who saw turnover rise to £20m in 2007.
Administrators from PricewaterhouseCoopers were appointed to the Warrington-based firm last week. The business has ceased trading.
PwC did not say why the business had failed or how many staff had lost their jobs.
