Liverpool ’embassy’ seeks ambassadors

MEMBERS of Liverpool’s business community are being encouraged to become ‘Ambassadors’ to help promote the new embassy initiative in London.

City bosses are asking firms to contribute £1,000 to be “ambassadors” to help fund the Embassy. In return, firms will be able to use the facilities at its London HQ, will feature on the embassy’s website and will be invited to an exclusive investors’ conference which will be held in May.

The Leader of Liverpool City Council, Joe Anderson, said: “We have listened to the feedback we have had from the SME sector in the city, and we believe it is essential that they are included in what is a fantastic opportunity for our city’s businesses.

“This  ‘Ambassador’  package will offer small firms added value to their marketing and promotional activity; enable them to access the London market; and utilise what are a really impressive London premises.”

“Though the initial programme of activity is outlined for three months, I truly believe that this project will be a much longer term proposition, and the more ‘ambassadors’ we recruit, the likelier that is.”

Frank McKenna, chairman of Downtown Liverpool in Business, said: “This offer enables Liverpool firms to market their wares in London, and also to engage with London investors at the Investors Conference in Liverpool.”

Liverpool’s London embassy officially opens next Friday 21st January.
